Detailed information R600A
Information Sheet
R600a, also known as Isobutane, is a natural refrigerant that offers high energy efficiency in new generation household and commercial cooling systems, making it an environmentally friendly solution. Thanks to its very low global warming potential (GWP ≈ 3), it is rapidly gaining popularity in climate-friendly technologies and has become the modern standard, replacing older generation gases like R12 and R134a.
R600a has a wide range of applications, from household refrigerators to commercial beverage coolers, display refrigerators, and mini-bar systems. Its efficient operation at low pressure, low energy consumption, and environmental sustainability make it a popular choice, especially in Europe and countries with environmentally conscious regulations. Its ozone depletion potential of 0 (ODP 0) ensures it is an environmentally safe choice and helps international companies reduce their carbon footprint.
As a pure gas, it exhibits stable behavior during service and use; however, it is important to remember that R600a has Class A3 high flammability properties. Therefore, storage, transfer, filling, and recovery operations must only be performed by authorized and trained technicians. Proper ventilation, spark-free equipment, and adherence to correct service procedures are extremely important for safe operation.
As MAX GAZ, we supply R600a gas in CE certified, refillable cylinders. All our cylinders are QR coded, traceable, and comply with international safety standards.
