R32 is a single-component HFC refrigerant gas, a modern solution offering high energy efficiency in new generation air conditioning and heat pump systems. Its low global warming potential (GWP ≈ 675) reduces its environmental impact, and it is preferred by many manufacturers as the standard gas replacing R410A.
R32 has a wide range of applications, from residential air conditioners to commercial VRF/VRV systems and new generation industrial chiller systems. It is one of the fastest-growing refrigerants today due to its higher cooling capacity, lower charge quantity requirement, and high energy efficiency. Since its ozone depletion potential is 0 (ODP 0), it is an environmentally safe option and helps international companies reduce their carbon footprint.
Its single-component nature ensures more stable behavior during service operations; however, it should be noted that R32 has A2L class low flammability properties. Therefore, storage, transfer, filling, and recovery operations should only be performed by authorized and trained technicians. Proper ventilation, spark-free equipment, and correct service procedures must be used for safe operation.
