Max Gas R417A, Household Air Conditioning Gas, R22 Retrofit Alternative

R417A is a refrigerant gas mixture developed especially after the discontinuation of R22 gas, used as an environmentally friendly and compatible drop-in alternative. This mixture, consisting of R125, R134a, and a small proportion of R600, can be applied to many existing R22 systems without requiring compressor or equipment changes. This feature both reduces maintenance costs and extends system life.

R417A can also be considered an alternative solution for R410A in some applications, offering balanced performance by increasing energy efficiency in low-pressure systems. Its ozone depletion potential of 0 (ODP 0) makes it an environmentally safe option and supports sustainability in modern refrigeration systems.

R417A has a wide range of applications in split air conditioners, commercial refrigeration units, heat pumps, and industrial cooling groups. Since its pressure values are close to R22, retrofit operations are easy, and oil changes are not required in most systems. However, it is crucial that gas transfer and system adjustments are performed by authorized technicians.

As MAX GAZ, we supply R417A gas in 12-liter (Net 10 KG), 61-liter (Net 45 KG), 1000-liter (Net 750 KG), and 22000-liter (Net 20,000 KG) CE-certified, refillable cylinders. For 12-liter cylinders, we offer options with and without a pouring hose. All our cylinders are QR-coded, traceable, and comply with international safety standards.

💬 R407C Refrigerant Gas – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

❄️ General Information

1. What is R407C?
R407C is an HFC gas mixture composed of R32, R125, and R134A. It is an environmentally friendly alternative to R22 gas.

2. Where is it used?
It is generally preferred in air conditioning systems, heat pumps, and commercial refrigeration systems operating at medium temperatures.

3. Can R407C be used directly instead of R22?
Yes, it can be used with a "retrofit" application in most systems. However, the oil type and equipment compatibility must be checked. Necessary analyses must be carried out by expert teams before gas replacement; otherwise, your device may be irreversibly damaged.

🧯 Cylinder and Safety

4. Can R407C cylinders be refilled?
Yes, R407C gas is supplied only in CE-certified, refillable cylinders. Disposable c

💬 R417A Refrigerant Gas – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

❄️ General Information

1. What is R417A?
R417A is an HFC refrigerant gas mixture composed of R125, R134a, and a small proportion of R600. It was developed as a direct alternative (drop-in) after R22 was phased out.

2. Where is it used?
It is widely used in split air conditioners, commercial refrigeration systems, heat pumps, display cabinets, and industrial cooling units.

3. Can R417A truly be used directly instead of R22?
Yes. In most systems, a retrofit can be performed without requiring compressor or equipment changes. It is compatible due to its pressure values being similar to R22.

🧯 Cylinder and Safety

4. Is R417A a flammable gas?
No. R417A is a non-flammable, A1 class refrigerant gas.

5. Can R417A cylinders be refilled?
Yes. As MAX GAZ, we supply the product only in CE-certified, refillable cylinders. Disposable cylinders are not sold.

6. How should cylinders be stored?
They should be stored upright in cool, dry, well-ventilated areas away from direct sunlight.

⚙️ Usage and Technical Information

7. What is the GWP value of R417A?
R417A has a medium global warming potential (GWP ≈ 2346). Therefore, recovery and controlled use are recommended.

8. Is an oil change necessary?
In most R22 systems, an oil change is not necessary, but a technician's assessment should be made depending on the system's condition.

9. Can R417A be used instead of R410A?
It can be considered an alternative in some low-pressure applications; however, it is not a complete one-to-one replacement. Application suitability should be evaluated by a technical team.

10. What should be done in case of a leak?
Turn off the system, ventilate the area, and contact authorized service. Although it is a non-flammable gas, professional intervention is essential.

📞 Sales and Support

11. Can I order in small quantities?
Yes. We support orders of 1-10 cylinders. Suitable for service teams and SMEs.
